well im not a dad yet, but i can answer 2 of your ?’s.
the first thing i bought was a baby sized starbucks apron, because my wife works for starbucks, and im going to surprize her with it at the baby shower, and my babys gender is going to be a surprize, but if it is a boy then ethan garrett king, and if its a girl, then alene elizebeth king.
Baby Gear
i just found out i am pregnant saturday. i couldnt help but go out and i bought my dad an i love grandpa bib. i bought my mom and mil a grandma bibs and i bought daddy i love daddy bib and i love daddy pacifier and a onsie that says shhhh! im watching the game with dad i also bought a little toy. im just sooooo excited! i cant wait to buy more!

I think it was some unisex outfits, if i remember correctly. I know when i finally found out his sex, at about 36 weeks (lol, little ****** kept his legs closed at his first scans!), i bought him a blue snoopy baby blanky
A few change of clothes to whatever the weather is like where you are, maternity pads (about 3 packets, overpacked a bit there lol), toiletries, mascara (thought i might gussy up before visitors – that was a joke, that was the last thing i was thinking about!), and stuff for bub, so nappies, wipes and an outfit to go home in. Oh, actually, i didnt pack an outfit to go home in, i made the mistake of leaving this up to my partner – he was all mismatched lol!! I think thats about it, you can look up on the net for lists – ****** pads
I found that having heaps of nappies, all the clothes, towels and washers all washed and ready to go a big help.
His name is Kaleb, and hes beautiful : ) – its been 6 months already!!
Baby Ornaments
1. i bought clothes from newborn to 1 year old. i bought some toys, a crib, a changing table.
bedding.
2. toothbrush and paste, comfy clothes 4 when i left the hospital. your not going to want to wear clothes that are tight. camera, clothes for the baby
3. diapers and wipes if your not breastfeeding then formula
4. Roderick Anthony-Kamalei i gave him 2 middle names. anthonys my dads name and kamalei is a hawaiian name since he was born in hawaii.
Shopping for a Really Unique Baby Gift?
1) Crib (or bassinet), carseat and stroller (pushchair).
2) Clothes to wear home, extra socks, focal point object (we used Lamaze), baby’s going home outfit. Now, I would recommend an Ipod or MP3 player and a compact DVD player—you can be in labor for a while.
3) Diapers (nappies) and wipes. You can never have enough and it’s horrible when you run out and don’t want to leave the house. Buy tons in various sizes—you won’t regret it!

Baby furniture and accessories
Things to take the baby home in. Otherwise, mostly things for yourself, the hospital supplies you with items
and usually gives you a starter kit. I don’t like a lot of products for a newborns skin so, I would go with what they have.
Pampers, wipes (start with unscented), towels, washcloths, baby friendly detergent bibs. Formulars can be tricky – not all agrees with the baby.
You will find most things available for baby’s are not what you need as much. Concentrate on pratical things.
Your day will consist of feeding, changing, putting to sleep,feeding, changing, putting to sleep,feeding, changing, putting to sleep.
You need mostly items that will help you do these things smoothly.

We bought the crib first. And some clothes.
You should bring your breastfeeding pillow to the hospital. I recommend the My Brest Friend pillow (not sure if they have that where you live).
Have newborn size clothes and diapers on hand.

I still have 6 weeks left so I haven’t packed my bag yet..but i am planning on packing a robe, slippers, some pajamas, socks, panties, sweats, and a sweat shirt. and then I am gonna pack the babies diaper bag with some t-shirts for her and a coming home outfit and some extra diapers just in case and bottles and formula just in case I have issues ****** feeding. And before you come hope I would suggest having everything washed first and foremost. Have lots of diapers, and wipes, and onesies. I am naming my daughter Ava Carolyn. The first thing I bought was little pink ugg boots so she can match her mommy =)

the first thing we bought for our baby was a stuffed cow that rattles
hospital bag nappies, nappy wipes , underwear, pj’s, clothes for myself and the baby, toothbrush, toothpaste, maternity pads, tissues for the dad he was a bit emotional
stocked up on as much as we could before we had him nappies, wipes, bath wash,clothes all sizes, shoes by the boxful etc.
we named our baby Jack David

i bought a baby outfit with duckies in the smallest size and put in on the bed for my husband to know we can get stared on baby making cause i had taken out my iud then when we found out that we were expecting we bought a baby bassinnet and put it in my room to tell my daughters we were having a baby and the hospital hamper is being worked on since i just found out i am having a girl and for this we all are gonna get something pink for our new baby and the name we have picked is Isabel due to be born on april 13th
